So you're a performer, why not write a book?!

A lot of performers like to turn their hand to another branch of the entertainment business, it's good to diversify, here's some that had a go at writing a book, and it appears that they're quite good at it!

Robert Shaw is probably best known for the likes of Quint in Jaws but he had a varied movie career spanning more than 30 years, Shaw was also an award winning novelist (he won The Hawthornden Prize in 1962 for his novel The Sun Doctor), he was also a playwright and did a couple of screenplays as well, based on his own novels. Overall a very talented chap!

Greg Kihn is an American rock musician, radio personality and novelist, I read Horror Show after having it recommended to me, it was ok, he also did an album called Horror Show, that's ok as well!

The wonderful Gene Hackman made time in his busy schedule to write a handful of books, 3 he co-wrote with Daniel Lenihan, but also 2 individually, ranging from pirate adventures to Civil War drama to westerns, got to admit, the guys got talent, they all have good scores on Goodreads.

The Uber Geek herself Felicia Day just had to write a geeky book, well a trilogy to be precise, called The Guild and it's about internet on-line role playing gamers (which she herself is) she has won numerous awards, and her stories have been turned into comics and a mini web series, well worth checking out.

The truth is out there and Gillian Anderson is writing about it, well writing (according to Goodreads) "a science fiction thriller of epic proportions" called A Vision of Fire, the first in a series, just read the synopses and I think I might have to read the book!

Actress, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur and now novelist, is there anything Hilary Duff can't do!? So far she has a trilogy to her name, Elixir, it has really good scores on Goodreads as well and it's it not about a pop singer either!

James Franco is multi talented anyway, so it stands to reason that he would write a critically acclaimed collection of stories about troubled Californian teenagers and misfits, that's just his latest novel, he has 9 other books to his name, check out Goodreads!
