The next 33 nasties were also prosecuted, but unsuccessfully, they were still banned and added to the nasties list though.
The Beyond (1981) was initially released with cuts (85m 32s) and then IMDb states that it was released uncut in 2001 with all previous cuts waived (83m 47s), that makes no sense unless it was reedited (it may be missing the pre credit scene which only seem to appear on a later German DVD release) , timings from the BBFC sight.
The cuts were to all the eye gouging, whipping, death by tarantulas, head shot, and dog savaging scene, well it is quite gory!
Woman inherits a hotel, yes! It happens to be built on one of the gates of hell, nooooo!
This Lucio Fulci supernatural horror is a classic, yes it's gory but it's a well made, spookily scary movie, great tension and build up to wonderful set pieces, I highly recommend this if you haven't seen it before.
The Boogeyman (1980) cinema release was uncut, finally released uncut on DVD in 2004.
A young boy murders his slutty mum's boyfriend, 20 years later him and his sister are living happily with their aunt and uncle. The sister starts having nightmares, loosely connected to that night 20 years ago, after receiving a letter from their mother claiming to be on her deathbed. To cut a long story short, cursed mirror, gets broken, contains the vengeful spirit of the murdered boyfriend, and he wants revenge!
I have to admit that I had to rewatch this one, it's an ok film, not bad, but not great, but better than it's sequels!
Cannibal Terror (1980/1) never received a cinema release but was released uncut on video in 2003.
After a botched kidnapping 2 crooks fall foul of the local cannibals after they turn on the people trying to help them!
Standard jungle exploitation/cannibal, gut munching, gore, sexual violence, crappy story, crappier acting and poor effects, watch if you must!
Contamination (1980) was released cut and uncut in the early 80's, but banned after the Video Recordings Act was introduced, an uncut video was released in 2005 with a 15 certificate!
The cuts were mainly to do with the multiple gut explosions, the during and after effects.
An astronaut and a detective take on alien pod people in the coffee plantation in South America.
This is quite a funny movie, it's not supposed to be, but it is, it has an awful lot of people exploding, if that's your thing you'll love it!
Dead & Buried (1981) passed uncut for cinema, released on video with 30s of cuts in 1990, and then released uncut in 1999.
The cut was to the infamous syringe in the eye scene.
A sleepy seaside town, the gory murder of tourists, that appear to come back to life!
A brilliant movie, yep it's gory in places but it's so well done that you can look past that if it bothers you, it's full of suspense and should never really have been added to the nasties list, hunt down a copy, watch and enjoy!
