Death Trap (1976) passed with cuts for the cinema, finally released uncut on video 2015.
The owner of a dilapidated hotel who takes exception to some of his guests kills them and then feeds them to his pet crocodile!
The cuts were to a couple of murders and the beating scene, nothing really too extreme, probably why it escaped prosecution.
This was Tobe Hoopers 2nd film, after The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, more on that later, it's quite a fun, well done film, it's a bit over the top but that's part of it's charm. You'll also get to see an early performance from Robert Englud, yep, Freddy, he's a nasty piece of work in this as well!
Full movie available on Prime
Deep River Savages (1972) initially refused a cinema release, was released on video in 2003 heavily cut, and re-released in 2016 still cut.
A photographer is captured by cannibals, chiefs daughter falls for him, so instead of having him for dinner they have him for dinner!
Usual cuts that are associated a cannibal movie, including the obligatory animal cruelty, which remains cut from the UK release still.
This Umberto Lenzi movie is really a cross between A Man Called Horse and Cannibal Holocaust, taking the story from Horse and jumping on the Cannibal bandwagon.
Delirium (1979) released in 1987 with 16s of cuts.
A Vietnam vet is hired by a right wing group to clean up criminals and street people, flips out and starts killing everyone (as long as they're blonde, buxom and take their clothes off!).
The 16s of cuts were to the topless women being impaled by a spear.
It's like a bad copy of a bad Italian giallo, that's probably the only thing I can say about it.
Don't Go in the House (1979) released with cuts for it's cinema release, 1987 video release had just over 3m of cuts, the 2011 release was uncut.
A chap that was burned as a child by his sadistic mother takes a perverse sort of revenge on women, it involves a flamethrower!
The cuts scenes involved some of the nudity and women being burned alive!
This is a good little movie, it has a bit of a Psycho feel about it, a study of a deeply disturbed character. The scenes of the women being burned alive are very graphic and quite realistic, very good special effects for the time, well worth a watch.
Don't go near the Park (1979) released on video in 2006 uncut.
A brother and sister are cursed in prehistoric times by their mother, to keep their youth they have to feed on the entails of young people! The curse can be broken if the siblings sacrifice their child in 1200 years time, fast forward to 70's LA for fun and games!
The ban was probably due to the gore, even though the effects are awful!
It may sound great but it's terrible, don't bother watching.
